Bakra-Id or Bakrid in the Indian subcontinent because of the tradition of sacrificing a goat or 'bakr' on this day. The word 'Id' is derived from the Arabic 'iwd' meaning 'Festival' and Zuha comes from 'Uzhaiyya' which translates to 'Sacrifice.
